Veridas expands its international presence through merger with Dutch firm Fourthline

Veridas

Navarra-based company Veridas, which specialises in digital identity and biometric solutions, has announced a merger agreement with Fourthline, a Dutch firm specialising in identity verification and regulatory compliance. The deal will create one of the leading global digital identity platforms, with a presence across Europe, the United States and Latin America.

A union built on financial strength

Both companies enter the agreement from a position of profitability, with positive EBITDA. The new entity will combine Veridas’s proprietary technology in biometrics, digital identity and fraud prevention – with particular strength in Southern Europe and the Americas – with Fourthline’s regulatory compliance infrastructure (KYC and AML) built for financial institutions across Northern and Central Europe.

The combined company is expected to carry out 115 million verifications this year and operate in more than 50 countries, serving over 350 clients across sectors including banking, insurance, telecommunications and public administration.

Continuity and investor backing

Veridas, founded in Pamplona in 2017 as a joint venture with BBVA, will see its existing shareholders, including BBVA itself, retain their stake in the newly combined entity. The deal is also backed financially by Finch Capital, Fourthline’s long-standing investor, along with new investors including Rabo Investments, the investment arm of Rabobank.

The technological integration of both companies will take place gradually, ensuring local support and service continuity for all clients. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to the relevant regulatory approvals.

A further step for Navarra’s tech ecosystem

With this merger, Veridas strengthens its position as one of Navarra’s most internationally ambitious technology companies, reinforcing Navarra’s role as home to businesses capable of competing in global digital identity and cybersecurity markets.
