Volkswagen has unveiled the technical specifications of the new ID.Cross, the 100% electric model that will join production of the Skoda Epiq and the two combustion models, T-Cross and Taigo, at the Landaben plant. With this addition, the Navarra factory consolidates its role in the German group’s transition to electric vehicles.
Second electric model at the factory
The new B-segment SUV is positioned as the entry-level model in the German brand’s electric range. Although series production won’t begin until September, Volkswagen has already opened pre-orders for the vehicle in the Spanish market, with a starting price of €33,345 without incentives, dropping to €25,600 with available government grants. More affordable versions are expected to follow in future.
A compact vehicle built for everyday use
The ID.Cross measures 4,153 mm in length, 1,581 mm in height and 1,794 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2,601 mm. It offers a 475-litre boot with variable capacity, plus a 25-litre front storage compartment. The version fitted with the 52 kWh battery can tow up to 1,200 kg gross weight.
Built on an evolution of the modular MEB+ electric platform, the model will be available with three power outputs: 85 kW (116 hp), 99 kW (135 hp) and 155 kW (211 hp). The 37 kWh and 52 kWh net batteries provide a range of up to 426 kilometres under the WLTP cycle.
On DC fast charging, the 37 kWh battery goes from 10% to 80% in around 23 minutes at 90 kW, while the 52 kWh version does so in 24 minutes at 105 kW. On AC charging, the vehicle supports up to 11 kW.
Technology and equipment
The ID.Cross features a 26 cm digital instrument cluster and a 32.8 cm central touchscreen, alongside driver assistance systems such as Connected Travel Assist – capable of bringing the car to a stop at a red light – and Park Assist Pro, which enables automated and remote parking manoeuvres via smartphone.
The vehicle offers one-pedal driving, optional DCC adaptive suspension on the 155 kW variant, and Vehicle-to-Load functionality, allowing external devices to be charged with up to 3.6 kW.
The range is organised into three trim levels – Match, Life and Style – with adaptive cruise control standard from the base version. Optional extras include IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, a 425 W Harman Kardon sound system with 10 speakers, front seats with massage function, and a large panoramic sunroof.
A boost for Navarra’s industry
With the arrival of the ID.Cross, Landaben strengthens its position as one of the most advanced plants within the Volkswagen group in its shift towards electrification, consolidating Navarra as a key location within the German manufacturer’s industrial strategy in Europe.
