Amixalan Business Group has taken a majority stake in Montarto Foods, a chilled ready-meals platform which, as its first move following the Navarra group’s entry, has acquired 80% of Healthy Food Solutions.
Amixalan Business Group, based in Gorraiz, has announced it has taken a majority shareholding in Montarto Foods, a business platform recently founded by Pere Mañé and Cornerstone Partners and specialising in the manufacturing and marketing of chilled ready-to-eat and ready-to-heat meals.
First acquisition of the project
Following the Navarra group’s entry into its capital, Montarto Foods has completed the purchase of 80% of Healthy Food Solutions, a company based in Fraga specialising in chilled ready-to-heat meals. The company sells own brands including Socarraet, Casa Koji, Teresa’s and Lola Cocina de la Abuela, alongside private-label production for retailers. Montarto Foods is also negotiating a further acquisition it expects to close in the short term.
A sector consolidation project
Led by CEO Pere Mañé, Montarto Foods aims to become one of the leading operators in the Spanish market through a growth strategy combining organic expansion with the acquisition and integration of specialist companies in the sector. Its approach pairs this expansion with product development aligned with current consumer trends: convenience, healthy eating, innovation and sustainability.
“Healthy Food Solutions is the first step in a long-term project with a clear growth ambition, and we continue to evaluate other potential acquisitions,” said Pere Mañé.
