The Catalan firm, which will manufacture lighters, will create up to 250 jobs in the region. It will invest more than 25 million euros and will adapt the facilities in 2023 to start production in January 2024.
The implementation of Flamasats in Navarra will entail an investment of around 25 million euros in the first phase, which will be increased to 40 million euros in the long term, depending on the evolution of demand. During 2023, the investment effort will be focused on adapting the facilities to specific production needs and equipping them with automatic production lines and other production elements. CBRE acted as real estate advisor in the sale and purchase transaction.
Likewise, and after the adaptation phase of the facilities, the project contemplates the hiring of between 175 and 250 workers to cover the direct and indirect skilled labor needs.
“The operation has been closed quickly thanks to the collaboration received from the Aoiz City Council, SODENA and the clear support of the Regional Government, and is an example of collaboration between institutions and companies in the interests of economic and social development”, thanked Xavier Puig, president of Flamagas.
Angel Martín Unzue has expressed “his joy for this decision and the total willingness of the City Council to implement the new plant. For Aoiz, undoubtedly the arrival of this company represents a strong boost to local activity. This is very good news resulting from the work carried out between this municipality and the Government of Navarra, especially its public development entity, Sodena.”
Flamasats is a family group with more than 1,100 employees and has two leading business lines: school stationery with the ALPINO, MANLEY and DACS brands and lighters with the CLIPPER brand, the world’s second largest player with 500 million units sold annually.
The new plant in Aoiz will enable the company to continue with the sales growth plans it has been achieving in recent years, thus becoming the company’s sixth production center worldwide.
