ICT

Through Big Data and artificial intelligence, Navarra is committed to becoming a benchmark in digital transformation and innovation both in the public and private sectors, as well as at academic level.

The ICT sector in Navarra

Navarra is at the forefront of technology, thanks to its advanced fibre developments and the digitisation of public infrastructures, such as those of our health system. The fact that it is a very industrialised region, where this sector represents 31% of GDP, allows us to move towards digital transformation and become a highly competitive, sustainable and innovative region.

Navarra’s ICT sector is made up of around 200 companies that employ 3,500 people and have a turnover of about €280 M due to the search for constant innovation. Among their activities, the automation of production processes, followed by cybersecurity and the management of infrastructures and systems stand out.

As a relatively young sector, as the vast majority of companies that make it up were formed in the last 20 years, it has undergone important growth due to the sophisticated demand of local and multinational companies from our region’s renewable energy, health, food, automotive and public sectors. The ICT sector has played a vital role in the development of Smart Grids for renewable energy and in sensor networks for applications in the agriculture or e-health sector.
