The agricultural firm is allocating this investment to redesign its facilities using circular and biotechnological solutions, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability. The project includes the installation of new infrastructure and production lines designed to reduce waste and promote the circular economy.
In Lodosa, the Navarre-based company will develop two additional production areas that will operate under circular economy principles. The plan involves using by-products from local businesses to generate raw materials internally, boosting self-sufficiency in supply and strengthening the region’s value chain. This phase will be supported by the PERTE programme, funded by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition.
At the same time, the Seville plant will incorporate a biotechnology line for the production of microorganisms, which will later be processed in Lodosa. This strategy reflects Timac Agro’s aim to diversify its range of fertilisers, placing technical innovation at the heart of its development.
This ambitious initiative forms part of the Armony 2030 Plan, the company’s roadmap to consolidate an environmentally responsible, resource-efficient, and environmentally transformative industry. Through this plan, the company aims to reduce its ecological footprint while strengthening its production capacity.
Works will commence in the coming months, starting with the launch of the new units in Seville, followed by the expansion in Lodosa. Timac Agro expects these actions to serve as a lever to optimise its industrial performance and reinforce its role as a benchmark for sustainable agriculture in Navarre and southern Spain.
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR
Navarrese companies cover the entire value chain, from the primary sector to the agri-food industry. Among them are Spain’s two leading producers of frozen vegetables (Ultracongelados Virto and Congelados de Navarra); the largest cereal cooperative group (Grupo AN); the global leader in the manufacture and marketing of casings for food products (Viscofan), whose sales reach over one hundred countries worldwide; and Spain’s number one company in ready-to-eat salads and fresh vegetables (Florette). The region is also home to top-tier multinationals such as General Mills, Gelagri, Mondelez and Agrozumos. Further information is available at the following link.
