Navarra is consolidating its internationalisation strategy thanks to a recent mission that brought the Invest in Navarra team — together with representatives from the regional Government — to several regions of China, with the aim of opening new avenues for economic, technological and cultural cooperation.
A mission with strategic scope
The delegation, led by President María Chivite, was accompanied by senior members of the Navarrese Government as well as representatives from Invest in Navarra, including Guillermo Alonso and Unai Irigoien. During their visits to cities such as Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai and other key regions, the group held high-level meetings with Chinese authorities, international trade institutions and leading companies in strategic sectors.
The main objective has been to strengthen bilateral relations between Navarra and China, identify investment opportunities and open new value chains for Navarrese companies, particularly in technological, industrial and innovation-driven fields.
Key sectors and opportunities identified
During the mission, Navarra expressed a strong interest in sectors such as automotive, clean mobility, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing and digital technologies. Discussions with leading Chinese companies in these areas highlighted real opportunities for collaboration, technology transfer and foreign direct investment.
Such partnerships can reinforce Navarra’s role as an international hub for industrial innovation, attracting capital, know-how and high-value projects.
A territory open to investment and cooperation
Navarra is positioning itself as an attractive destination for international companies thanks to a favourable environment: stable institutions, a highly skilled workforce, a strong industrial tradition, and a clear commitment to innovation and the green transition. Invest in Navarra, part of SODENA, acts as a facilitator throughout this process, providing support to investors throughout every stage of their establishment in the region.
This mission demonstrates that Navarra seeks not only to attract investment, but also to build long-term relationships based on trust, cooperation and shared development between European and Asian partners.
