Executives from the global hygiene and health products and solutions company celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of its presence in the region of Navarre. The event provided an opportunity to look back and highlight some of the key milestones achieved by its Navarre branch. Among these was the recent investment plan implemented over the past decade, totalling more than €80 million. Of this amount, €75 million was allocated to expanding production capacity, while the remaining €6 million was used to improve waste management, reduce water consumption, and increase energy efficiency.
Through these actions, Essity has not only met market demands and environmental regulations but has also reinforced its role as a generator of employment and a driver of the local economy.
Looking to the future, the company reaffirmed its commitment to Allo as a strategic location, with new projects in the pipeline focused on continued innovation in sustainability, productivity, and digitalisation. These intentions were expressed by the company’s top executives during the celebration marking fifty years of operations in Navarre.
The event was attended by key figures such as the President of Navarre, María Chivite; the Government Delegate, Alicia Echeverria; and the Mayor of Allo, Susana Castanera, along with other institutional representatives. “We continue to grow thanks to strong companies like Essity, because stable employment is the best way to combat depopulation. These are companies that want to invest, innovate, become more sustainable, and are fully aware of the vital role they play in the communities that host them,” Chivite remarked.
Meanwhile, Antonio Martínez, Director of the Allo plant, said he was “proud” to celebrate the anniversary and took the opportunity to acknowledge “the legacy of more than 1,200 people who have worked at this plant since its inception.”
