The Multidimensional Indicator of Quality of Life (IMCV) of the National Statistics Institute (INE) for the year 2022 places Navarre as the “leading” region at national level in “leisure and social relations”. Also in the “environment and surroundings” section as well as in the “general life experience” category. Thus, Navarre topped the ranking with a final score of 105.35 points.
To compile the aforementioned indicator, the INE takes into account up to 55 different indicators distributed into nine different categories: material living conditions; work; education; health; leisure and social relations; security; governance and basic rights; surroundings and environment; and general life experience. Of these, as already mentioned, Navarre excelled in three: “leisure and social relations”, “environment and surroundings” and “general life experience”.
The final score obtained by the Autonomous Community of Navarre (105.35 points) is, moreover, above the average level established by the INE for the whole country, which in 2022 stood at 101.44 points. This figure represents a drop from the 101.64 obtained in the previous year, which the National Statistics Institute blamed on a worsening of conditions in Governance and basic rights; General experience of life; Leisure and social relations; Physical and personal safety; and Environment and surroundings.
In any case, the result obtained in the INE confirms the good results obtained by Navarre in other parameters that also measure the quality of life of the territories. Precisely one of these ratios was announced last September when the MWCC (Madrid World Capital of Construction, Engineering and Architecture) recognised that Navarre is at the top of the list in Spain in such important parameters as purchasing power and cost of living; accessibility to housing; the environment; safety; health and traffic.
