  • The launch recorded the lowest number of dealer and customer complaints in the company’s history.

  • The Volkswagen Taigo model is manufactured in Landaben (Navarra) exclusively for the whole of Europe and has already arrived at dealership showrooms.

Volkswagen Navarra has achieved with the Taigo the best launch in the history of the company worldwide, having obtained the lowest number of complaints during the 12 weeks following the start of series production of the new SUV Coupe, which took place on September 27, 2021.

This is not the only success recorded by the Navarre factory. In that ranking of best launches, the redesigned Polo, whose start of series production took place in June 2021, ranks second, and the T-Cross, launched in December 2018, ranks fourth.

The Taigo, a high-value car – its minimum selling price stands at 22,600 euros and is close to 30,000 euros in the best-equipped versions – is manufactured in Landaben exclusively for the whole of Europe and has already reached the showrooms of the dealerships.

Since the launch of the Taigo, for the first time in its history the Volkswagen factory in Navarra is producing three models simultaneously: in addition to the new model, it continues to produce the Volkswagen Polo model, rolling off the assembly lines since 1984; and the Volkswagen T-Cross, active since 2018.

About Volkswagen Navarra

The Volkswagen plant in Navarra has been in operation since 1965, initially producing models of the Authi company. In 1979 it was acquired by Seat and in 1984 it became part of Volkswagen. Since then it assembled the Polo model and, since 2018, also the T-Cross.

Today Volkswagen Navarra is at the forefront of productivity and environmental impact. According to the company, its objective for 2025 is to reduce the consumption of energy, water, CO2 emissions, waste and solvents by 45% compared to 2010. Among the measures adopted to achieve this goal is the project to install a photovoltaic electricity production plant that will occupy 50,000 m2 of the factory’s roof.
