Navarra’s new strategy to attract talent and investment

MARCA NAVARRA

The proposal presented stems from a process of reflection initiated at the end of 2023, with the aim of transforming the region into a ‘benchmark socio-economic ecosystem’, with a renewed, solid and reliable image that inspires attractiveness both internally and externally. Under the slogan ‘A way of working’, the initiative seeks to attract high-level opinion leaders, attract new investment and promote social projects that guarantee the future quality of life in the region, as well as boosting and promoting its strengths from a sustainable and inclusive approach, in which no one is left behind.

The new brand places special emphasis on some of the differential advantages and opportunities presented by the territory. These include its advanced educational system, with more than 40% of the population having higher education thanks to its three universities, and its biomedical system, which employs more than 30,000 people and places the region among the most advanced healthcare systems in the world. Moreover, Navarre is the most industrialised region in Spain, generating stable, high added-value jobs, which has enabled it to attract more than 125 multinationals.

Another key aspect is the vindication of its rural character, where agriculture continues to be an essential source of wealth, together with its tradition of solidarity, in which 45% of the population has participated in voluntary work. Added to this is the achievement of having one of the highest life expectancies in the world, reaching 83 years of age.

During the presentation, the four main lines of action on which Navarra’s work will focus in order to differentiate itself from other similar territories at national and European level were also presented. These strategic lines are: quality of life, talent and employment, tourism and diversity, and collaboration. These seek to promote Navarre as an innovative, sustainable and equitable region, attracting investment and talent. The participation of key actors, such as universities, companies and local entities, was highlighted in order to promote projects in areas such as energy transition and innovation.

Following the presentation in Pamplona to more than 200 local public and private agents, those responsible for this initiative are planning to hold similar events in Brussels and Madrid. Likewise, an ambitious internal dissemination plan will be carried out throughout the different merindades of the community.
