This was announced by the heads of the production company following the agreement reached with the public company Nasuvinsa, whereby they have taken over the two film sets located on the Baztan Valley Business Campus. Specifically, these managers envisage a production of 6 films in 2025, increasing production to 12 in the following years (either through in-house production or co-productions with other national or international production companies), giving space to traditional references of the horror genre, as well as to new narratives and voices.

The joint work of the Department of Industry and the Department of Ecological and Digital Business Transition together with the public companies SODENA and Nasuvinsa as well as the Audiovisual Cluster of Navarra and the Navarra Film Commission has been fundamental in reaching the agreement that has allowed the arrival of this new production company in Navarra.

In this way, the councillor Mikel Irujo valued the agreement reached as ‘good news for the Valley, as it is our mission to continue attracting companies to our community. These studios aim to generate original and high quality content, taking advantage of technological innovation and emerging talent to create unique cinematic experiences. Without the collaboration of all these institutions, the implementation of this project would not have been possible’.

Irujo also thanked ‘the interest shown by the production company, a company that wants to generate value, employment and economic activity in this Valley, good news for territorial cohesion and the development of our rural areas by attracting new and new professionals,’ he said.

For his part, the president of the Cluster, Miguel Iturralde, confirmed his organisation’s commitment to the industrial development of Navarre, prioritising the establishment of new companies. In this respect, the Navarra Film Commission worked to attract filming, Nasuvinsa leased the space for the studios, while Sodena, through its ‘Invest in Navarra’ attraction area, provided the necessary information on aid and incentives and was responsible for coordinating the creation of the new company.

Midnight Fear Factory, in addition to producing traditional films, will expand into the virtual reality market, offering immersive experiences. An audiovisual R&D laboratory will also be set up to train new professionals and respond to the growing demand in Navarra. The project includes Midnight Fear Factory TV, a channel dedicated to horror, science fiction and suspense, with its own content and classics of the genre.

As can be seen in the ‘Strategic Sectors’ section of our Invest in Navarra website, Navarra’s audiovisual industry has experienced significant growth and evolution over the last decade. In this sense, this industry has a series of transversal support in different areas in the region to stimulate investment in infrastructures as well as in the production of audiovisual content.
