The company, which specialises in the design and manufacture of energy storage systems from automotive batteries, has joined an international community that redefines business success beyond economic benefits to include the well-being of people, communities and the environment. This has made it ‘a model to follow in the region’, according to its managers, who invited other local companies to join this global movement.

BeePlanet stands out for its innovative technology and sustainable solutions that promote the circular economy and reduce the carbon footprint, thus setting the standard for all companies to aspire to be not only the best in the world, but the best for the world. In this context, the B Corp standard assesses corporate management performance in five key areas: governance, employees, community, environment and customers. In addition, the certification, awarded by B Lab, a non-profit organisation, requires companies to demonstrate sound practices and a legal commitment to social purpose in their charters.

As a member of the B Corp community, BeePlanet Factory, owned by Sodena, a public company dependent on the Government of Navarra dedicated to attracting investment, becomes part of a community made up of more than 8,000 global companies such as Danone, Hijos de Rivera, Ecoalf and Triodos Bank, to name but a few of the most relevant cases. All of them are committed to making a positive impact on the world while achieving business success. On the other hand, this international network reflects the diversity and potential of the European economy, showing that it is viable to prosper economically and socially simultaneously.

From there, Belén Viloria, executive director of B Lab Spain, highlighted the incorporation of BeePlanet into the B Corp community as ‘an inspiring example’ of how companies can lead ‘the reduction of inequalities, environmental regeneration, community empowerment and the creation of quality jobs with purpose and dignity,’ she said.
