This was announced by the company’s managers during a visit to the company by the Regional Minister for Industry, Ecological and Digital Transition, Mikel Irujo. At the meeting, they also reported on the photovoltaic investments made last year. At that time, the company was equipped with 4 parks that exceed 9 MW/h, which allows it to cover 20% of its energy needs with self-sufficiency.
The president and CEO of Congelados de Navarra, Benito Jiménez, was the host of an institutional delegation headed by the aforementioned Minister Irujo and which also included the new directors of Fomento Empresarial, Iñigo Arruti; of Nasuvinsa, Carlos Chocarro; as well as the recently incorporated managing director of Sodena, Iñaki Larraya.
All of them were given first-hand knowledge of the growth and evolution of a company that celebrated its 25th anniversary last year and which has accumulated an investment of more than 350 million euros. In this sense, Jiménez explained that the ambition of the company he presides and leads is to be a reference in the frozen vegetable and solutions sector. To this end, he emphasised the close relationship he maintains with the thousand farmers with whom he works in the search for a sustainable, top quality product.
As far as the expansion of Fustiñana is concerned, the president and CEO of Congelados de Navarra confirmed that this project includes a new production line for maize, peas and broccoli, with a blanching area and two new IQF freezing tunnels. Precisely, the entry into operation of these facilities will allow them to double the production capacity of their work centre.
