The seven proposals selected, out of a total of 23 applications, are related to cutting-edge areas such as health, advanced manufacturing, agri-food industry, renewable energies and creative and cultural industries. From there, these types of calls seek to support the competitive and resilient development of companies in the Euroregion in the framework of the digital revolution through smart specialisation in sustainability, knowledge generation and innovation and commitment to the circular economy.
In the area of advanced manufacturing, the programme will finance the ADDILANZA project, led by the Public University of Navarra and focused on researching and integrating high-performance additive manufacturing technologies for the manufacture and recovery of metal components with special emphasis on eco-design. Also selected is the BIDEONENA proposal, a project led by the UPV/EHU, which seeks to use artificial intelligence to develop a low-cost solution to reduce the energy consumption of mobile robotics, and in which the NAIR Center of Pamplona / Iruña will participate.
In the area of renewable energies, the initiative selected was ENERKIDE, a project led by the Sakana Development Agency that aims to promote cross-border energy communities based on the development of a methodology and toolbox that takes into account the main barriers faced by the promoters of this type of initiative.
In the agri-food industry, two projects have been selected. Firstly, HOBBEA aims to strengthen cooperation between agents in the Euroregion to promote the production and consumption of organic bread. Led by the agricultural cooperative Hazialdeko (Noain, Navarra), it will promote more sustainable practices throughout the bread value chain. On the other hand, ReTPIM aims to create a cross-border network of producers and technicians of peppers under Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) or Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) and has the syndicate of l’AOP pimient d’Espelette as its leader, with the collaboration of INTIA and the Regulatory Council of the PDO Pimiento de Lodosa.
In the area of health, ECLICARE 2 has been selected, a project led by the BCMaterials Foundation (Leioa, Euskadi) and in which the UPNA participates, which will develop a disposable platform that allows mobile phones to be converted into portable analytical laboratories capable of detecting biomarkers of inflammatory diseases.
Finally, in the field of creative and cultural industries, the EGAH project, led by Euskampus Fundazioa and in which the Audiovisual Cluster of Navarra CLAVNA collaborates, aims to shape a Euroregional audiovisual hub to connect partners and ecosystems of the audiovisual industry in the three territories, identify lines of collaboration and promote synergies between agents in the Euroregion.
