Navarra has declared the new expansion of facilities and production lines planned by this Marcilla-based company to be a project of “foral interest”. The initiative, which will be carried out over the next five years, aims to strengthen its capacity and, at the same time, optimise its energy consumption. Exkal currently has 1,200 employees and an annual turnover of around 200 million euros.
The Navarrese manufacturer of commercial refrigerated furniture, Exkal, plans to invest 25 million euros over the next five years to expand its facilities in Marcilla. This initiative will also mean the creation of half a thousand jobs in addition to the current workforce of 1,200 people. For all these reasons, the Government of Navarre declared it to be of “foral interest” in order to speed up the management and processing of the administrative procedures linked to the execution of this investment.
The initiative envisages, specifically, the commissioning of new production lines aimed at increasing the company’s capacity. It also aims to achieve greater optimisation of energy consumption.
Exkal was founded in 2005 as a family business project that currently has a turnover of 200 million euros a year. Its market share in Spain alone exceeds 40 % and, in addition to the Marcilla production centre, it has factories in Paterna and Manises (Valencia) as well as in Haian (China).
