Navarra takes its investment proposition to China: presence at CISCE and new strategic agreements

CISCE

Invest in Navarra has played an active role at the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), held in Beijing, positioning Navarra as an attractive destination for foreign investment and a gateway to the European market. The participation, part of an institutional and business mission led by the Regional Minister for Industry and Ecological and Digital Business Transition, Mikel Irujo, served to showcase the region’s industrial, technological and logistical capabilities to some of the key business players in the Asian market.

New agreements and consolidated relationships

The mission resulted in strategic agreements with the city of Chongqing — home to Hithium’s gigafactory, the company that will establish its first European plant in Navarra — and with the province of Anhui. These agreements will open new avenues for business and commercial cooperation in key sectors such as automotive, energy, digital, agri-food and construction, whilst reinforcing Navarre’s ties with high-impact industrial projects, particularly in the field of energy storage.

It is worth noting that this presence in China does not start from scratch: Invest in Navarre has maintained an active relationship with companies such as Hithium for a number of years, the result of a systematic approach to prospecting and supporting inward investment projects.

The “Navarre Day” and the Shenzhen agenda

Alongside its participation at CISCE, the Navarrese delegation held a “Navarra Day” — an event that served as an institutional and economic showcase to project Navarre’s profile on the international stage. The agenda was rounded off with a visit to Shenzhen, one of the world’s leading innovation hubs in artificial intelligence, advanced robotics and biotechnology, where opportunities for collaboration were explored in strategic sectors including industry, health and advanced services.

The mission brought together a broad representation of Navarra’s business community: sectoral clusters, companies and technology organisations that established direct contacts with leading Chinese firms and analysed new business and investment opportunities.

This initiative reinforces Invest in Navarra’s strategy to attract foreign investment, improve the competitiveness of the business fabric and consolidate global alliances that drive Navarre’s economic and technological development.
