Navarra takes its technology ecosystem to China’s Silicon Valley with a strategic business mission to Shenzhen

misión empresarial a Shenzhen

The International Plan of Navarra is organising a business mission to Shenzhen from 24 to 26 June, with the aim of opening new business and collaboration opportunities for Navarrese technology companies in one of the world’s most advanced innovation ecosystems.

Shenzhen, known as China’s Silicon Valley and the birthplace of technology giants such as Huawei, attracts billions in R&D investment every year and is home to more than one million companies. It is in this environment that the Government of Navarra, through the International Plan of Navarra (PIN), has organised a multi-sector mission aimed at Navarrese companies with a strong technology focus, seeking to accelerate their presence in the Asian market.

A programme designed to generate business and build partnerships

The mission’s agenda combines complementary formats to maximise the impact for each participant. The programme includes an institutional and business forum bringing together Chinese and Navarrese companies, tailored B2B meetings, and visits to businesses and technology centres in the Longhua district, one of Shenzhen’s leading innovation hubs. This approach allows Navarrese companies to gain first-hand knowledge of the territory’s industrial and technological landscape, identify business opportunities and establish contacts with potential partners and clients.

The Director General of Business Development and Infrastructure, Íñigo Arruti, has highlighted that the mission represents not only a prospecting opportunity, but also a gateway to a world-class technology knowledge ecosystem that would be difficult to access through any other means.

A long-standing strategic relationship with China

The Shenzhen mission is not a one-off initiative, but the result of a sustained, long-term commitment. Since 2017, the International Plan of Navarra has progressively deepened its relationship with China, establishing it as a priority strategic market in line with the practices of Europe’s most advanced regions. In 2024 alone, the PIN allocated over €134,000 to China-related activities, generating more than one hundred direct business impacts.

The mission also takes place against the backdrop of the 20th anniversary of the Spain-China strategic alliance and the existing agreements between Navarra and the Chinese region of Gansu, reinforcing the institutional foundations on which these initiatives are built.

Shenzhen: an opportunity for globally minded Navarrese companies

For Navarrese companies with innovation capacity and international ambition, Shenzhen offers a unique environment in terms of development speed, scalability and concentration of technological expertise. The mission is open to companies from any sector, provided they have a relevant technology component.
