Navarra is strengthening its position as one of Europe’s leading regions in renewable energy, driven by the growth of solar photovoltaic power, which has become one of the main engines of sector growth in the region.
According to the latest energy balance data, renewable energy now accounts for 64.9% of total installed capacity in Navarra, following a 6.8% increase over the past year, mainly driven by the strong expansion of photovoltaic energy, which represents 36.3% of the total, alongside the steady growth of wind power.
This progress consolidates the transition towards a more sustainable and competitive energy model, supported by the expansion of self-consumption, the development of new capacity and the implementation of public policies aimed at encouraging investment in clean energy.
Navarra has a strong track record in renewable energy, positioning itself as a European benchmark thanks to a well-established industrial ecosystem, a complete value chain and a strategic commitment to energy innovation.
The growth of photovoltaic energy also takes place within a broader transformation of the energy system, with the region moving towards more efficient and flexible solutions, integrating new technologies such as energy storage to optimise energy use and improve system stability.
This favourable environment, combined with a competitive regulatory and tax framework, reinforces Navarra’s attractiveness as a destination for investment in sustainable energy projects, contributing to economic development, job creation and the consolidation of an energy model aligned with European decarbonisation goals.
