The European Business and Innovation Centre of Navarra (CEIN) has been selected by the prestigious British newspaper Financial Times as one of Europe’s leading entrepreneurship centres, further consolidating Navarra’s prominent role in supporting start-ups and innovative entrepreneurship.
For the first time in its history, CEIN has entered the ranking published by the Financial Times, which lists the 180 most relevant European hubs for business acceleration and incubation. In this edition, CEIN is ranked 109th among leading centres across the continent.
Recognition of Navarra’s entrepreneurial drive
This milestone highlights CEIN’s track record as a key player in Navarra’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, both for its ability to support new businesses and for the quality of its acceleration programmes and incubation services. Since its creation, CEIN has advised more than 21,500 projects and supported the establishment of around 3,800 new companies, many of them operating in strategic sectors such as biotechnology, agri-food tech and digital technologies.
Uxue Itoiz, Managing Director of CEIN, stated that this international recognition “acknowledges the work carried out at CEIN, where the survival rate of companies that pass through our incubators exceeds 80%”, a figure that reflects the strength and effectiveness of the support provided to entrepreneurs.
An ecosystem backed by strong performance indicators
The centre continues to host innovative companies at its facilities, with a 90% occupancy rate across its incubators located in Noáin and at the Tudela Agri-Food City. In addition, CEIN is preparing to open a new space this year dedicated to technology-based entrepreneurship, Hirugarrena, which will strengthen knowledge transfer from universities to the productive sector.
This recognition adds to other recent achievements within Navarra’s ecosystem, which ranks among the European regions with one of the highest rates of established entrepreneurship — companies operating for more than 3.5 years — exceeding the Spanish national average.
Navarra, a strong environment for entrepreneurs and start-ups
CEIN’s inclusion in the Financial Times European ranking reinforces Navarra’s position as an attractive destination for investment in innovation and entrepreneurship, highlighting both the quality of its resources and the opportunities it offers to high-impact start-ups. Through a combination of specialised programmes, incubation services, physical infrastructure and support networks, Navarra continues to strengthen its position as a competitive region on the European map of entrepreneurial hubs.
