Navarra strengthens its industrial positioning with Siemens Energy in Berlin

Siemens Energy visit - Government of Navarra VII

A Navarrese delegation led by the Regional Minister for Industry presented Navarra’s industrial ecosystem in Berlin as a strong platform for developing new market opportunities with Siemens Energy, beyond the traditional relationship in the wind energy sector.

During the working session held on 25 February, the delegation — comprising leaders from Navarra’s industrial, technological and academic sectors — held an institutional meeting with Siemens Energy executives to explore potential areas of cooperation across various energy and industrial fields.

A broad and diversified ecosystem

The visit included tours of key facilities within the German group, such as the gas turbine plant, the green hydrogen centre and the innovation hub. This provided first-hand insight into Siemens Energy’s growth prospects in business areas with significant development potential.

The Regional Minister for Industry and for Business Ecological and Digital Transition, Mikel Irujo, highlighted that Navarra is already a European benchmark in the wind energy sector, but also has much more to offer thanks to a diverse, sustainable, innovative and competitive industrial ecosystem. According to him, the region’s capabilities extend well beyond wind energy, opening up opportunities in areas such as green hydrogen, gas turbines and power grids.

Collaboration and innovation as drivers of growth

For his part, Kerman Gabiola, Managing Director of Siemens Energy Spain, underlined the importance of Navarra’s technological and industrial capabilities, which have been instrumental in the development of the wind energy business. He also emphasised the company’s willingness to expand collaboration beyond this field into other areas with strong innovation and growth potential.

The presence at the meeting of representatives from Invest in Navarra and institutions such as the Public University of Navarra (UPNA), the National Renewable Energy Centre (CENER) and the ENERCLUSTER cluster demonstrates a shared commitment to fostering synergies between industry, knowledge and technology, thereby strengthening Navarra’s competitiveness on the global stage.

Navarra, an attractive destination for industrial investment

The meeting in Berlin highlights Navarra’s commitment to the internationalisation of its productive fabric and to securing new opportunities with strategic players in the energy sector. The region is positioning itself as an attractive destination for industrial investment, offering a diversified value proposition and an ecosystem ready to collaborate with major multinational groups.
