Navarra has taken a further step in its strategy to attract international investment and foster industrial cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding with China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), one of the world’s leading companies in industrialised construction and infrastructure development.
The agreement was signed in Paris by the Regional Minister for Industry and for Business Ecological and Digital Transition of the Government of Navarra, Mikel Irujo, and the General Manager of CSCEC, Luo Jianpeng, at a meeting attended by representatives of Sodena and Invest in Navarra.
This memorandum marks the start of a strategic collaboration aimed at identifying and developing joint investment opportunities in Navarra and in international markets, as well as strengthening business and institutional links between Navarra’s business ecosystem and one of the leading global corporations in the construction sector.
Key areas of cooperation
The planned areas of collaboration include:
- Exploration of investment opportunities and co-development of industrial projects in Navarra and other markets.
- Exchange of knowledge and technologies applicable to sustainable construction and advanced industry.
- Promotion of partnerships between Navarra-based companies and subsidiaries of the Asian group.
The meeting was described by both parties as highly productive and lays the foundations for a long-term relationship that could lead to high value-added projects in strategic sectors.
Navarra, an attractive destination for global investment
This agreement forms part of the internationalisation strategy of the Government of Navarra and Sodena to consolidate the region as a competitive destination for high value-added industrial investment. In recent years, Navarra has strengthened its ties with key markets, including China, with the aim of attracting talent, capital and technological cooperation in areas such as advanced industry, renewable energies and digitalisation.
The collaboration with CSCEC complements previous initiatives to engage with Chinese companies and highlights Navarra’s potential to attract global projects that drive the modernisation of the productive fabric and generate sustainable economic opportunities.
