The European project IRIS EDIH, part of Navarra’s Digital Innovation Hub, has completed its first operational phase with a strong track record in supporting companies and public organisations in their digital transformation processes. Between 2023 and 2025, the hub delivered 500 digitalisation services to 100 organisations, consolidating its role as a key driver of innovation and a gateway to advanced technologies and European innovation networks.
IRIS EDIH is part of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) network promoted by the European Commission, aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of companies—particularly SMEs—through advisory services, training and access to technological infrastructure.
The results achieved between 2023 and 2025 highlight not only the volume of services delivered, but also their practical impact on business processes and technological capabilities. Over this period:
-
✔ 500 digitalisation services were activated for companies and public entities.
-
✔ 100 beneficiaries received direct support in diagnostics, technology adoption and strategic guidance.
-
✔ 24 partnerships were established with other digital innovation hubs across Europe (16) and Spain (8), expanding collaboration and technology transfer opportunities.
The services covered a broad range of activities, from digital maturity assessments and proof-of-concept testing to prototyping, system integration and process optimisation using emerging technologies such as advanced sensors, artificial intelligence and data simulation.
The implementation of IRIS EDIH has generated concrete use cases illustrating the real-world application of digital technologies, including:
-
Adoption of additive manufacturing for prototyping and on-demand production.
-
Diagnostics and optimisation of software engineering processes.
-
Use of portable NIR technology to improve food quality control.
-
Advanced services for genomic data analysis and business data structuring.
These examples demonstrate how effective digitalisation programmes can enhance internal operations while opening new pathways for competitiveness and specialisation across sectors such as manufacturing, agrifood and health technologies.
IRIS EDIH has shown that a collaborative and well-structured approach can accelerate the digital maturity of companies, providing tools that enable them to:
-
Adopt high-impact digital technologies.
-
Access transnational collaboration networks.
-
Improve processes through tailored expert support.
Through its partnerships with other European digital hubs, Navarra-based companies have also been able to exchange best practices, broaden their technological outlook and explore opportunities for future collaborative innovation projects.
With solid foundations established between 2023 and 2025, IRIS EDIH is now preparing for a new phase extending to 2028. This next stage aims to expand the scope of services, strengthen partnerships and further embed digital innovation as a key driver of regional competitiveness.
Digital transformation is not only a technological challenge; it is increasingly recognised as a critical lever for productivity, market access and resilience for Navarra’s SMEs, supporting their integration into global value chains and long-term sustainable growth.
