Navarre recognised as a European Industrial Region for its strong commitment to R&D&I, sustainability, and Industry 4.0 technologies

The recognition, awarded during the opening ceremony of the ninth edition of Advanced Factories — southern Europe’s leading trade fair for industrial automation and robotics — positions the region of Navarre as a key reference in the European manufacturing sector. “Navarre has a lot to offer companies: a whole ecosystem of technological support, innovation, entrepreneurship, services, advanced engineering, training, education, industrial land and, of course, clear institutional support. Receiving this recognition today reinforces the work we have been doing as a community for many years,” stated Mikel Irujo, Navarre’s Minister for Industry and for Ecological and Digital Business Transition, as he accepted the award.

Irujo also noted that, despite the current climate, the region “has enjoyed over a decade of business dynamism and economic growth. Since 2015, Navarre has experienced steady, sustained growth amounting to a total of 21.6%. Over the past four years alone, it has grown by an average of 3.75% per year — one of the highest rates among OECD countries, on par with the United States and even above countries like Japan or South Korea.”

A pioneer in Industry 4.0, Navarre integrates a high-potential ecosystem featuring technologies such as IoT, big data, and artificial intelligence to improve its production processes. This is backed by strong investment in R&D&I and sustainability, with significant efforts in renewable energy and resource efficiency, reinforcing its status as an ideal region for industrialisation.

In addition, a large delegation from the region and its industrial ecosystem showcased their innovations at Advanced Factories. Notable attendees included key organisations and companies such as CEIN, as well as startups and entities like Largoiko, NULAB, Uraphex, VORS CONTROL, NTDENERGY, Kunak Technologies, and Nawattia, among others.

In light of these achievements, Invest in Navarra-Sodena invites all foreign capital companies interested in setting up or expanding investment projects in the region to explore the services we offer. All the information is available on our website.
