The information was made known during the recent meeting held by the President of the Autonomous Community of Navarra, María Chivite, with representatives of Central European firms established in the region, together with the Minister of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Spain, Ingo Stender. During the meeting, Chivite recalled that Navarre ‘is the Spanish region with the greatest industrial weight in its economy’, thanks to its favourable ecosystem for manufacturing activity, among other strengths.
‘You are an important part of our productive fabric and of our society, with many years of links and regional impact’, said the President of Navarra, María Chivite, when addressing those attending the meeting. In addition to sharing economic data, Chivite stressed that Germany is the second most important destination for Navarre’s exports, with a 5.2% increase in sales. Specifically, up to October, a total of 410 companies from Navarre exported goods worth 1,385 million euros, registering a positive trade balance of more than 20 million euros.
She also highlighted the strengths and characteristics that make the region an attractive environment, such as its position as the region with the highest quality of life and lowest debt in Spain, its third place in regional competitiveness, 100% employability in vocational training, the network of technology centres and its high production of patents.
Chivite also emphasised the measures that the regional authorities are implementing to strengthen Navarre’s industry, focusing on digitalisation, sustainability, fostering talent, promoting innovation and decisive support for science. ‘From Navarre we want to continue collaborating, looking for areas of opportunity and helping as much as we can so that those of you who are already here continue to grow, creating activity and employment, as well as attracting new investment’, he said.
The message was addressed to representatives of the main Central European companies with a presence in the region, among them: Kayser Automotive, Benecke Kaliko, Hahn Iberia, Isringhausen, Knauf Industries España, Knorr-Bremse, KWD Automotive, Nordex, Renolit, Roth Ibérica – Global Plastic, S.A.U., Schmidt Clemens, Siemens Gamesa, Storopack España, S.L., Vibracoustic Cascante, Volkswagen, ZF TRW, Zucami Poultry Equipment, Schnellecke Logistic and TÜV Rheinland.
