According to the Multidimensional Quality of Life Indicator of the National Statistics Institute (INE), the Autonomous Community of Navarra leads the national ranking in the sections of general experience of life, health, surroundings and environment, and leisure and social relations. It also stands out in third place in terms of quality of education. As an area for improvement, it is worth mentioning the area of physical and personal safety, where it ranks ninth.

The First Vice-President and Regional Minister of the Presidency and Equality, Félix Taberna, presented the conclusions of the ‘Multidimensional Quality of Life Indicator (IMCV) included in the Navarre 2024 Quality of Life Report’ to the Parliament of Navarre. This index, promoted by the INE, analyses nine dimensions based on 55 indicators to compare the quality of life between autonomous communities. Taberna stressed that Navarre leads this index thanks to solid public policies that benefit all citizens, and underlined the value of these metrics for detecting areas for improvement and optimising government strategies.

The Comunidad Foral, therefore, is positioned as the territory with the highest quality of life in 2023, leading in six dimensions such as health, leisure and social relations, and the environment. Although it maintains its outstanding position, the report points out some challenges such as the increase in the perception of insecurity and a slight decrease in satisfaction with housing. However, it excels in key indicators such as quality employment, positive perception of health and overall life satisfaction, ranking above the state average in all areas analysed.

The report, prepared by the Analysis and Forecasting Office, includes a historical comparison since 2008 which confirms Navarre’s leading position throughout the series. Furthermore, it is hoped that this index will be homologated at European level in the future, broadening its scope and usefulness. Details of the study and other thematic analyses can be consulted on the Office’s website, which seeks to guide public policies to meet future challenges.
