As a novelty this year, the International Plan of Navarra prepared an interactive virtual catalogue for this event, which included, on the one hand, the most relevant data on the region in the field of ‘health’ and, on the other hand, specific information on each of the companies that participated in this year’s edition. It is a very useful promotional and commercial tool for companies, and will be available until the next edition of the fair. A resource that can also be used by other Navarrese companies in the health sector in their commercial and export work for their products or services.
Of the nine participating companies from Navarra, six of them repeated their experience at a fair that this year gave them a larger exhibition space than in previous editions. In addition, in response to their specific needs, they were scheduled to meet with potential customers from different countries.
For example, within the ‘Taiwan MedTech Networking’ meeting, the director of the International Projection Service, Miren Ausín, participated together with Laura Corcuera, manager of the Navarra Health Cluster, who presented the potential of Navarra, its capabilities and its sectorial ecosystem. This invitation was valued ‘very positively’ in order to strengthen Navarra’s relationship with the Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan (ITRI), which has been in place since 2020.
In addition, the pavilion of the National Council for Science and Technology provided a space for European companies to present their capabilities in the health sector to Taiwanese companies. The Navarrese companies Ysium, Darwin Biomed and Arpa took part in this event.
On the other hand, Manuel Ledesma, Chief Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Düsseldorf, and David Portalés Mañanós, market analyst of the same office, visited the Navarra stand.
PARTICIPATION FROM NAVARRA
The participating companies from Navarra were:
-EVERSENS(Pamplona / Iruña): it has 10 employees and, this year, is repeating the experience once again. Dedicated to respiratory solutions for healthcare, they want to take advantage of the fair to reinforce their distribution network by strengthening their international presence. According to Jorge Pascual, the company’s commercial director, ‘Medica is a key trade fair because it brings together various participants from the healthcare sector, allowing us to present the innovations and strengths that each of us has in this field. It is an ideal opportunity to explore new markets and partnerships.
-KOÜMER, Laboratory furniture (Huarte / Uharte): oriented towards the manufacture of laboratory equipment, it employs 5 people and is attending the fair, in yet another edition, ‘in search of possible new distributors to boost its exports’, according to Marta Anaya, the company’s sales manager.
–DARWIN Biomed(Tudela): employs 4 people, who focus their activity on evolutionary design and, for yet another year, are once again attending MEDICA. During the fair they intend to ‘look for new distributors and, in parallel, institutions that act as testers/early adopters’, according to Adrián Jiménez, Head of Engineering of the company. The company has so far worked in Spain, USA, Austria, Germany and Belgium.
–Embega Healthcare (Villatuerta): with around 150 employees, this company from Navarre, an expert in screen printing, hopes to strengthen relations with its main partners and customers in Europe, as Luis Huici, Head of Business Development, explains: ‘Embega Healthcare is a newly created line of business and the aim is to grow in the sector, focusing on the European and US markets’. This company is also one of those repeating the experience.
–Navarra Health Cluster: From the Navarra Health Cluster, which is participating once again this year, its manager, Laura Corcuera, is committed to ‘promoting the healthcare ecosystem in Navarra, supporting the organisations associated with NHC present at the fair and promoting the internationalisation of activities’.
–Abanzamed (Mutilva / Mutiloa): innovates in the field of soft tissue repair, specialising in the development of devices in the field of traumatology.
–Auxilab(Beriáin), dedicated to the design, production and distribution of laboratory material.
–OSF Plastic (Arazuri): in its second year, they are bringing to the fair the manufacture of their products by injection moulding parts in technical plastics and fluorinated materials. In addition, they carry out assembly work on parts, adhesive placement, injection with inserts or bimaterial injections.
