The first firm is a supplier of transmission technologies for light vehicles, which will use the 954,232 euros received to invest in its Pamplona factory. The second company has received 1.45 million euros for the design, manufacture and marketing of electromechanical automotive components at its Villatuera plant. Both awards fall under line B of the PERTE VEC II programme promoted by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism to finance proposals linked to the electric car value chain.

The seven new proposals for provisional resolutions total 39.7 million euros. Thus, in addition to Dana Automocion and Cebi, the initiatives of Renault España (31.48 million euros), Idneo Technologies (429,744 euros), Doga (456,107 euros), Wall Box Chargers (4.65 million euros) and Alcorta Forging Group (249,957 euros) have been awarded. All of them have won in a process in which 138 applications were submitted, totalling a total of 2.7 billion euros.

Dana and Cebi thus join other companies from Navarre which have also been awarded contracts, such as Mepef, Gestamp Navarra and Plastic Omniun. All of them have shared out the aid provided for in PERTE VEC II in this way:

  • Mepef Cascante. 267,824 euros for the development of a new battery box for the connected electric vehicle.
  • Plastic Omnium Equipamientos Exteriores. A grant of 855,186 euros and a loan of 371,067 euros for the development of a new bumper concept within the VEC value chain at its Tudela plant.
  • Gestamp Navarra. A grant of 6,057,303 euros and a loan of 1,407,147 euros for the innovative investment in a door ring at its Noáin plant.
  • Gestamp Navarra. Grant of 1,921,557 euros and a loan of 685,128 euros for the assembly of Längsträger Radhaus rear crossbars at its Orkoien plant.

On the other hand, Navarre’s relationship with electric vehicles is not new. In 2018, for example, Naveac was launched, an initiative to boost the region’s industrial capacities in the field of Electric, Autonomous and Connected Vehicles, in collaboration with more than 85 companies, research centres and universities in the region. In addition, the region intends to invest more than 20 million euros in electric mobility, with the aim of installing 250 recharging points distributed every 50 kilometres.
