Madariaga also confirmed that the new R&D laboratory in Sarriguren will start to be built at the beginning of 2024 “and that it will be a benchmark for innovation in the renewables sector”. Ingeteam’s CEO, Adolfo Rebollo, together with the President of Navarra, Mar\u00eda Chivite; Juan Cruz Cigudosa, the Regional Minister for University, Innovation and Digital Transformation, as well as the Mayor of the aforementioned town in Navarra, Pedro Mangado, also attended a meeting with the company’s CEO, Adolfo Rebollo.<\/p>\n
All of them toured the Sesma production centre, which was inaugurated in 1998 with a workforce of just 30 people at the time. It was precisely from this plant that the first wind turbine converters were produced, which are still in operation today at the Perd\u00f3n wind farm.<\/p>\n
Today, Ingeteam employs almost a thousand people in Navarra between its offices in Sarriguren, the power laboratory in Huarte and the aforementioned factory in Sesma. On the other hand, with its 57 GW of installed wind power capacity spread throughout the world, the company has become a key player in the electrification of society. This progress has been achieved because, for decades, it has been investing 5% of its annual turnover in R&D, an area that will be particularly strengthened with the new laboratory now planned for Sarriguren.<\/p>\n
