Tiru\u00f1a Grupo Industrial, a Pamplona-based manufacturer of rollers for corrugated cardboard manufacturing plants, has been acquired by the Chinese group Dongfang. The buyer is the Italian group Fosber, dedicated to the manufacture of machines for the production of corrugated cardboard. Fosber is owned by the Chinese Dongfang, one of the world’s leading suppliers of equipment and services for the corrugated packaging industries. The transaction was closed last July 28, when the Fosber firm acquired the 30% it did not already own. Previously, in March 2019, it had already acquired 70% of the company.<\/p>\n
TGI, Tiru\u00f1a Grupo Industrial, includes the companies Tiru\u00f1a SL and Tratamientos Industries, both located in the town of Orkoien, in the west of Pamplona. In addition, the group includes a stake in the company Tiru\u00f1a Am\u00e9rica since 2003, whose ownership is 50% shared with Fosber. The company’s main activity is the manufacture and repair of corrugating rolls for machinery manufacturers and cardboard manufacturers.<\/p>\n
At present, the Tiru\u00f1a group of companies has an annual turnover of more than 25 million euros and sells its rolls in more than 60 countries, including Latin America, especially Mexico, and Europe. Exports account for 75% of the company’s turnover.<\/p>\n
Among the main customers are Smurfit Kappa (Irish), International Paper (USA), Saica (Spain), DSS (England), Mondi (Austria), Georgia Pacific (USA), among others. The turnover of the three plants reaches more than 25 million euros. The two plants in Navarra employ 125 workers and the company in America employs 6 people. The sale of the entire company has been formalized shortly after the firm’s 100th anniversary in 2021.<\/p>\n
