This was recently highlighted by Mikel Irujo, Regional Minister for Industry and for Business Ecological and Digital Transition, during the conference \u201cThe Automotive Industry at a Crossroads\u201d, held at the Navarra Conference Centre and Auditorium.<\/h3>\n<p>In an increasingly competitive geopolitical context, with powerful industrial players operating at a global scale, Navarra \u201chas all the essential elements to decisively tackle the transition to electric vehicles,\u201d Irujo stressed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strategic investment and sector consolidation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Navarra\u2019s positioning in this transition is no coincidence. It is the result of long-term industrial and investment decisions that have consolidated a highly competitive ecosystem. More than \u20ac1.3 billion has been committed by leading industry players in the region.<\/p>\n<p>This includes, for example, over \u20ac1.024 billion announced by Volkswagen in 2023 to produce electric models at its Landaben plant, as well as \u20ac214 million invested by Mobis in a battery cell assembly plant in Imarcoain \u2014 considered one of the largest business investments in Navarra this century.<\/p>\n<p>These initiatives are helping to complete a fully integrated electric vehicle ecosystem, with more than 120 suppliers linked to the value chain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beyond automotive: a broader industrial transition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The conference also addressed wider challenges facing Navarra, including the alignment of energy, technology and human capital, as well as competitiveness in global markets strongly committed to electromobility. Participating experts stressed the need for a coordinated industrial agenda combining talent, innovation, competitive energy and territorial cohesion to sustain industrial leadership.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Opportunities for business development<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The shift towards electric mobility represents a strategic opportunity to attract investment and strengthen the regional business fabric in high-tech sectors.
