Navarre is strengthening its role as a strategic industrial hub for e-mobility with the completion of construction works on the new MOBIS Spain Electrified Powertrain plant in No\u00e1in (VGP Park Pamplona No\u00e1in), one month ahead of schedule. The facility, intended for the assembly of battery systems for electric vehicles, has been built by the pan-European group VGP over an eleven-month period.<\/h3>\n

The site represents a total investment of \u20ac214 million and comprises 50,000 m\u00b2 of built space on a 147,700 m\u00b2 plot, consolidating one of the region\u2019s most significant industrial commitments within the automotive sector.<\/p>\n

A key project for the electric vehicle value chain<\/strong><\/p>\n

The plant will focus on the assembly of high-voltage battery cells and systems for electric vehicles, closely linked to Navarre\u2019s automotive industrial ecosystem and its transition towards electrification. Its design includes specialised areas for internal logistics and production, with robotised assembly lines, warehouses, service areas and corporate offices.<\/p>\n

This new capacity strengthens Navarre\u2019s position as a competitive location for attracting industrial investment in strategic sectors such as automotive manufacturing and the energy transition, supported by its strong industrial base, logistics connectivity and innovation environment.<\/p>\n

Sustainability and advanced infrastructure<\/strong><\/p>\n

The building has been designed as a sustainable and energy-efficient facility and becomes VGP\u2019s first building in Spain to achieve BREEAM Outstanding certification, the highest standard for environmental sustainability and quality.<\/p>\n

This benchmark reinforces Navarre\u2019s commitment to industrial infrastructure aligned with European decarbonisation and sustainability targets.<\/p>\n

Boosting employment and the local industrial ecosystem<\/strong><\/p>\n

The plant is expected to become operational in 2026, contributing to the growth of Navarre\u2019s industrial economy and highly skilled employment. MOBIS had previously announced an upward revision of employment forecasts linked to this site, which are estimated at between 350 and 450 jobs, according to sector sources.<\/p>\n

With this new facility, Navarre adds a strategic asset to the electric vehicle industrial value chain in southern Europe, further enhancing its attractiveness as a destination for high value-added industrial projects.<\/p>\n
