Navarra is strengthening its commitment to innovation in healthcare: the Navarrese consortium led by Ysium Medical has launched Vysium Health, an R&D project classified as \u201cstrategic\u201d by the regional Government and designed to transform neurological rehabilitation for patients who have suffered a stroke.<\/p>\n
A major public health challenge<\/strong><\/p>\n Stroke \u2014 a cerebrovascular accident \u2014 is one of the leading causes of disability and mortality in Spain; in Navarra, it ranks among the top causes of death. Among those who survive, a high percentage present motor, cognitive or hemispatial neglect sequelae, conditions that require intensive, personalised and sustained rehabilitation strategies.<\/p>\n What does Vysium Health propose?<\/strong><\/p>\n To address this challenge, Vysium Health has developed a pioneering multisensory medical device that combines Mixed Reality (MR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The aim is to create immersive therapeutic environments capable of adapting in real time to each patient\u2019s progress.<\/p>\n This approach will not only improve the detection of brain damage \u2014 such as hemispatial neglect, which is particularly difficult to diagnose today \u2014 but will also enable more personalised, precise and effective treatments.<\/p>\n As Ysium Medical\u2019s CEO, Zuri\u00f1e Aguirre Larraza, explains:
