Navarra\u2019s electronics industry is experiencing a period of remarkable growth. According to a recent study carried out by Sodena with the technical support of Zabala Innovation Consulting, companies in the sector have recorded a 31% increase in turnover over the past three years, reaching \u20ac615.39 million.<\/h3>\n

This was highlighted during the recent Industry Day \u2013 \u201cAn Industry to Believe In\u201d, where the Department of Industry and Business Ecological and Digital Transition presented four emerging sectors expected to achieve double-digit growth in the coming years: aerospace, electronics, synthetic biology, and industrialised construction.<\/p>\n

The report identifies 29 companies and seven agents within the sector: 14 whose main activity is electronics and 15 integrators or firms developing products based on electronics or microelectronics.<\/p>\n

Together, these 29 companies represent 86% Navarra-based capital, with a joint turnover of \u20ac615.39 million and a 31% increase in revenue over the last three years (9.3% annual growth). They also maintain a strong commitment to research, development and innovation (R&D&I), investing more than \u20ac30 million in recent years.<\/p>\n

Sector Strengths<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sector has a solid foundation, with 42% of companies showing a high level of R&D competitiveness and 47% in a consolidation phase. Firms in Navarra stand out for their active participation in R&D projects and their own technological developments.<\/p>\n

In this context of opportunity for a sector poised for continued expansion, collaboration between companies and knowledge centres is a key area for development. Aligning university and vocational training programmes with industry needs is also essential, ensuring that emerging talent matches business demand.<\/p>\n

At the same time, improving the sector\u2019s visibility, coordinating specialised technological capabilities, and promoting collaborative projects will be crucial to maintaining this growth trajectory.<\/p>\n

The Electronics Value Chain<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sector\u2019s strength in R&D and design is a defining feature of Navarra\u2019s industrial ecosystem \u2014 a strategic component to guarantee technological autonomy and industrial traction.<\/p>\n

Navarra already has a solid infrastructure for electronic manufacturing, although currently concentrated in a limited number of companies. The region also boasts a strong culture of functional testing and quality control.<\/p>\n

However, there remain challenges: the region lacks accredited and accessible infrastructure for product validation and certification, and prototype development is not yet available locally, forcing companies to rely on Asian suppliers offering faster and more flexible solutions.<\/p>\n

Finally, software and connectivity are emerging as strategic levers for the sector\u2019s continued development and competitiveness.<\/p>\n
