Embutidos Goikoa, Embega, Grupo Apex, and Agrozumos have secured funding in the second round of grants under the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation (PERTE) of the agri-food sector. Altogether, they have mobilised investments exceeding \u20ac5.7 million, which will enable improvements in sustainability, energy efficiency, automation, and the digitalisation of processes.<\/h3>\n

These grants, managed by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, form part of a broader package totalling \u20ac182.5 million, awarded to 279 projects submitted by 228 companies across the country. This second call prioritised the participation of SMEs and their capacity to modernise the agri-food value chain, from production through to processing and distribution.<\/p>\n

In Navarre\u2019s case, the subsidised initiatives are linked to technological advancements, infrastructure improvements, and the adoption of innovative solutions aimed at boosting competitiveness and sustainability. The initiative reaffirms the strategic role of the agri-food sector in Navarre, which is key to industrial employment and the rural economy, and strengthens its alignment with the green and digital transitions promoted by the European Union.<\/p>\n

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR<\/strong><\/p>\n

Navarrese companies cover the entire value chain, from primary production to agri-food industry, including the two leading frozen vegetable producers in Spain (Ultracongelados Virto and Congelados de Navarra), the largest grain cooperative group (Grupo AN), the global leader in the manufacture and marketing of food casings (Viscofan), whose products are sold in over 100 countries worldwide, and the leading company in Spain for ready-to-eat salads and fresh vegetables (Florette).
