Thanks to this new facility, the Navarrese firm will produce up to 15 medicines for highly prevalent diseases such as hypertension, the most commonly prescribed treatment for which is \u2018Enalapril\u2019. Indeed, 37% of this type of medicine dispensed in Spanish pharmacies originates from this new production centre located in the region.<\/h3>\n<p>\u2018These facilities, which we are inaugurating today, are a reflection of our commitment to ensure that patients have access to the quality medicines they need,\u2019 said Cinfa Group Chairman Enrique Ordieres. \u2018The Spanish pharmaceutical industry has been committed to our country for years, investing and creating jobs,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n<p>The company, which has invested 431 million in R&amp;D and infrastructure over the last decade, will initially use the new plant to produce 15 drugs for the treatment of highly prevalent diseases in Spain, such as hypertension, which affects 7.8 million people. In addition, furosemide, atorvastatin, cetirizine and atenolol are already being manufactured, and nine more drugs will be produced in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>The inauguration of Cinfa&#8217;s new headquarters was attended by a large institutional delegation headed by Mar\u00eda Chivite, President of the Government of Navarra. \u2018Behind Cinfa&#8217;s work there is a commitment to something that also unites us as a company and government, in addition to Industry 4.0 and innovation, sustainability and energy transition. And that is health. Caring for people, their wellbeing, and how to advance quality of life from a holistic and comprehensive perspective,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, it should be remembered that the biomedical sector in Navarre employs 31,508 people in the region. Most of them work in healthcare services (27,981), although we should also highlight the 2,465 jobs linked to the health industry and the 1,065 researchers.
