Fully operational since last August, Rocarsa has a workforce of around thirty people, most of them from La Rioja.
The company, which distributes sweets and assorted candies to the professional sector, has shown strong growth in sales and personnel since 2008, leading it to move to the Alberguería industrial estate in Viana.
According to Rocarsa general manager Luis Plou, “the main reason for setting up in Navarra was a need to move to more spacious facilities. Our premises in Logroño had become too small, so we analysed options in La Rioja and Navarra, finally deciding on Viana for a number of reasons: an already-existing industrial building that fulfilled our requirements, the tax advantages offered by Navarra, and support from both Viana Town Council and Sodena, who facilitated our move to the town. Those were the decisive factors.”
Rocarsa has gone from a workforce of 9 employees and a turnover of 2 million euros in 2008 to 29 employees and forecast sales of 5.5 million euros in 2015. The present workforce, which works in new premises covering 3,150 m2, consists of 27 workers from La Rioja and two new recruits from Navarra. Another person is expected to join the company before the end of the year.
Rocarsa is a benchmark company in the logistics and distribution of sweets of the main brands in northern Spain. It has extensive experience acquired over more than 40 years, with in-depth knowledge of the sector and a very wide range of top-quality products in a number of categories (sweets, jelly babies, chewing gum, liquorice, chocolate bars, snacks, nuts, toys…). Among its main services are the distribution of sweets, the equipping of shops and an online store.
